PREPARATIONS FOR RAMA'S CORONATION

Bharata and Shatrughna left for their maternal uncle's home in Girivraja. Dasaratha's favorite among his four sons was Rama. He conferred with his Ministers about anointing Rama as his successor. To ascertain public opinion, Dasaratha convened a meeting. They all agreed. King Kekaya and Janaka were not informed of the meeting as there was no time. Dasaratha believed they both would be happy with the decision when they heard about it.
