Lakshmana and Indrajit were fighting like two elephants in rut. Vibhishana standing by Lakshmana's side addressed the Vanara soldiers, "Lakshmana will kill Indrajit. You destroy the soldiers surrounding him." Encouraged by his words Vanaras captured many Rakshasa troops. Lakshmana decapitated Indrajit's charioteer. His troops destroyed Indrajit's chariot and killed the horses. Indrajit was subdued.
