MAITREYA TELLS VIDURA ABOUT SWAYAMBHUVA MANU, HIS FAMILY AND THEIR PROGENY

 

“Vidura hear me carefully.  Swayambhuva Manu and his wife Satharupa had three daughters named Aakoothi, Devahoothi and Prasoothi and two sons named Priyavratha and Uttamapada.  Manu married off his eldest daughter Aakoothi to Ruchi.  To them Lord Maha Vishnu was born as their son named Yagna and Mahalakshmi was born as their daughter who was named Dakshina.  Yagna was brought up by his grand father Manu.  As Yagna and Dakshina were none other than the Lord and his wife, they got married.  The couple had twelve sons and gradually their progeny increased.
