SUKAYOGI TELLS PARIKSHIT THE STORIES OF SUCCESSIVE MANUS AND THE EVENTS THAT OCCURRED DURING THEIR TIMES

 

At the behest of Parikshit Sri Sukayogi started narrating the stories of successive Manus and the important events that had occurred during their times. He told him that Swayambhuva, Swarochisha and Uttama were the first three Manus and Thamasa was the fourth Manu. When Sri Suka told Parikshit that the famous ‘Gajendra Moksha’ (emancipation of the soul of the King elephant) happened during the period of Thamasa, Parikshit intervened and asked him to tell the story of ‘Gajendra Moksham’ in detail.
