POTHANA SITS IN MEDITATION

 

Bhagavatha is the story of the Lord Sri Maha Vishnu. Hearing the story of the Lord, makes everyone more enlightened, devoted to God and leads to renouncement of worldly pleasures. Poet Bammera Pothana decided to write the Bhagavatha story in Telugu. He was a great devotee of Lord Sri Rama and on a fine day he sat in meditation praying the Lord. He was sure in his mind that he shall not dedicate his work to any mortal whatever may be the temptations. He decided that he shall dedicate it to Lord Sri Rama only.
