SUKA YOGI TELLS PARIKSHIT ABOUT KARDAMA AND HIS PROGENY

 

Sri Suka told Parikshit “Oh King, I will tell you now about Kardama and his lineage.  The eldest of the daughters of Kardama was Kala and she married Mareechi.  They had a son and a daughter who were named Sasyapa and Poornima respectively.

The second daughter of Kardama was Anasuya and she was married to Atri.  Atri was a great saint and he did great penance for hundred years.  Atri and Anasuya had three sons named Chandra, Dattatreya and Durvasa with the blessings of Brahma, Vishnu and Rudra respectively.

Sri Suka then detailed how their progeny increased.
